Peddi Song Hellallallo Controversy: Janhvi Kapoor, Ram Charan Respond

The recently released track “Hellallallo” from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming sports drama Peddi has sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers criticising its choreography and calling it inappropriate for a film positioned as a family entertainer.

While the song has drawn praise for its energy and visuals, a section of social media users questioned its tone, drawing comparisons and labelling parts of the choreography as provocative.

Responding to the criticism in an exclusive interaction, Janhvi Kapoor said she was not aware of the backlash during the shoot or immediately after release.

She stated that the team trusted the director’s vision and performed the sequence within the context of the story.

“I didn’t realise the song had triggered this reaction. Honestly, I didn’t find it inappropriate. It felt like we were just dancing,” she said.

Janhvi added that expression through dance often varies across cinema industries and cultures, and intent plays a key role in how such performances are perceived.

Ram Charan Defends Creative Intent

Co-star Ram Charan echoed similar sentiments, saying the team approached the song with sincerity and clarity of purpose.

“We didn’t feel anything unusual while performing it. Our intention was completely genuine, aligned with the character and the story,” he said.

He further added that the team did not intend any content that would be unsuitable for family audiences.

“Same Energy as Naatu Naatu”

Ram Charan also compared the experience to his earlier celebrated performance in Naatu Naatu, stating that the creative process felt equally organic and enjoyable.

He said the interpretation of the song online may have deviated from what the makers originally intended.
