Actor Parineeti Chopra has spoken candidly about the emotional and physical challenges women face after childbirth, highlighting the importance of postpartum care and family support.
Parineeti, who welcomed her son Neer with husband Raghav Chadha in October 2025, recently returned to work and shared her thoughts on balancing motherhood and professional commitments during an interview with Zoom.
The actor explained that many people believe the difficult phase ends after pregnancy, but according to her, the real struggle often begins after childbirth. She stressed that new mothers need continuous emotional support, medical attention and understanding during the postpartum period.
Speaking about postpartum depression and recovery, Parineeti said many people misunderstand the seriousness of the experience.

She further explained that caring for a newborn is only one part of motherhood, while women themselves are often silently coping with emotional and physical exhaustion.
“Sometimes that’s the easy part, and the woman is going through much more,” she added.
Parineeti described motherhood as “10 jobs in one” and said proper support from family members plays a crucial role in helping mothers recover and regain confidence.
According to the actor, a strong support system can help women manage both personal and professional responsibilities more effectively.
“If we can support the mother, she can do anything. But if she doesn’t have that support in those first few months postpartum, she collapses,” Parineeti said.
She also noted that balancing work and motherhood is never completely easy, and every woman eventually finds a routine that suits her lifestyle and responsibilities.
