Orry Slams Dhruv Rathee Over Janhvi Kapoor Remarks, Sparks Fresh Debate on Celebrity Scrutiny

Social media personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has come out strongly in defence of actor Janhvi Kapoor following a controversial video by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee that has set off intense discussion across digital platforms.

The online storm erupted after Rathee released a video titled “The FAKE Beauty of Bollywood Celebrities” on December 25, in which he discussed the growing use of cosmetic procedures in the film industry. In the video, he referenced multiple actors — including Janhvi Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Shruti Haasan, Shilpa Shetty, Kajol and Priyanka Chopra — while talking about plastic surgery, fillers, botox and skin-lightening treatments.

Janhvi Kapoor’s image, featuring alleged “before-and-after” comparisons, was used as the video’s thumbnail, which quickly drew criticism from fans and industry watchers who questioned the need to publicly dissect actors’ appearances.

Orry Fires Back

Orry reacted after coming across an Instagram reel discussing Rathee’s video. The reel pointed out that the video surfaced just hours after Janhvi had posted an Instagram Story condemning the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh, calling the incident “barbaric.”

Stepping into the comments, Orry did not mince words.

“She probably doesn’t even know who he is,” he wrote, before accusing Rathee of chasing attention and branding him “anti-national.”

In another comment that soon went viral, Orry added:
“I only know him as that anti-national who complains about not getting papped at a train station despite having followers.”

His sharp remarks triggered strong reactions, with thousands of users debating both his tone and the original video’s intent.

Fans Push Back on Celebrity Targeting

This controversy follows similar backlash when Rathee previously commented on Deepika Padukone, with many fans arguing that repeatedly spotlighting actors’ physical changes promotes unhealthy beauty standards and unnecessary public shaming.
