A 24-year-old woman died after falling from the 16th floor of a residential society in Noida, 29 days after her marriage. Her family has accused her husband of dowry harassment, while police are investigating the allegations.
A 24-year-old newlywed woman died after allegedly falling from the 16th floor of a residential building in Noida on Sunday evening, August 9, according to police. The incident occurred less than a month after her marriage.
The deceased was identified as Kamini Kumari, a native of Etah in Uttar Pradesh. She had married Manthan Dhiman on July 11 and was living with him in a rented apartment at Divine Meadows Society in Sector 108, Noida.
Police said the circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated.

According to Sector 39 police station in-charge DP Shukla, the incident was reported at around 5:30 pm on August 9.
Police said Kamini allegedly fell from the apartment in which she was living with her husband. Residents reportedly rushed to the area after hearing a loud noise and found her seriously injured.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The incident prompted a police investigation at the residential complex.
Family alleges dowry harassment
After learning about Kamini’s death, her family travelled to Noida and accused her husband of allegedly harassing her over dowry.

The allegations have not been established by the investigation, and police said they are examining the circumstances surrounding the death as well as the claims made by the family.

Police said that no suicide note was recovered from the location.
According to investigators, Kamini’s husband told police that she had been experiencing depression and was undergoing treatment. She had previously worked at a BPO but had reportedly left the job before the incident.
