Nawazuddin Siddiqui Quietly Extends Financial Support to Rajpal Yadav Amid Jail Crisis

Amid ongoing social media speculation questioning whether Nawazuddin Siddiqui has supported longtime friend Rajpal Yadav during his recent legal troubles, sources close to the actor have dismissed such claims.

According to a person familiar with the matter, Nawazuddin has consistently stood by Rajpal Yadav over the years and has once again offered financial assistance during the current crisis. The source stated that this is not the first time the actor has stepped in to help.

“He had earlier extended financial support of Rs 10 lakh as well. Nawaz prefers to keep such matters private and does not publicise his personal gestures. Even now, he has chosen to support discreetly,” the source shared.

Rajpal Yadav has often spoken publicly about his bond with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The two actors share a longstanding friendship rooted in their early days in the film industry. However, as news of Rajpal’s legal situation surfaced, some social media users questioned whether Nawaz had come forward in support.

In a previous interview with The Lallantop, Nawazuddin had praised Rajpal’s generosity during their struggling years. He recalled how Rajpal would provide meals to aspiring actors who visited his home.

“When Rajpal was doing well professionally, he fed many people. He supported several of us when we were struggling. He never refused help. His house was like a langar—anyone could walk in and eat. He jokes a lot, but he is a deeply sensitive person,” Nawazuddin had said.

Rajpal Yadav recently surrendered at Tihar Jail in connection with a cheque-bounce case dating back nearly a decade. Following the development, several industry figures expressed solidarity.

Actors Sonu Sood and Gurmeet Chaudhary publicly appealed for support, while the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) urged the film fraternity to stand by him, describing the appeal as one of unity rather than charity.

Music producer Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav, owner of GemTunes Music, announced financial assistance of Rs 1.11 crore for the actor. In a statement to IANS, he said Rajpal Yadav has brought joy to audiences for years and remains an important part of Indian cinema. He described the contribution as an expression of solidarity within the industry.

Politician Tej Pratap Yadav also announced financial aid of Rs 11 lakh.
