Popular singer-songwriter Masha Islam is set to explore a new side of her creative career as she makes her acting debut in the upcoming Bangladeshi feature film ‘Bonolota Express’.

Directed by Tanim Noor, the film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas across Bangladesh during Eid-ul-Fitr. Inspired by celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Kichukkhan’, the project brings together an ensemble cast and marks Masha’s first appearance as an actress on the big screen.

From Music to Acting

Masha Islam has primarily been known for her work as a singer and songwriter. Her decision to enter acting came after she developed an interest in Tanim Noor’s filmmaking.

According to Masha, she initially wanted to become involved with the project in a behind-the-scenes capacity. However, the director encouraged her to audition for a role instead.

She subsequently submitted a recorded audition and was selected for the film, opening a new chapter in her artistic career.
