A tragic incident has brought the shooting of Karthi’s upcoming period gangster drama Marshal to an unexpected standstill. The film, directed by Taanaakaran filmmaker Tamizh, was in the midst of its second shooting schedule in the Sivagangai–Pudukkottai region when a technician lost his life early Monday morning.
Technician Dies After Fall, Crew Left Devastated
According to initial reports, 40-year-old Ayyanathan from Ilayankudi in Sivagangai district died after falling from the roof of the wedding hall where several crew members were staying. The mishap occurred during the early hours, and he reportedly fell while under the influence of alcohol. He died instantly, leaving the Marshal team in deep shock.
Local police launched an immediate probe and sent the body to Pudukkottai Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. The tragic news spread quickly among the team, halting all filming activities on location.
Safety Protocols Now Under Scrutiny
The production team and investigating officers are now separately reviewing safety measures and accommodation arrangements provided for the crew. The emotional state of the team remained fragile, with several members distressed by the sudden loss. The accident disrupted what had been a fast-paced shooting schedule with important sequences planned for the week.
