Manjeet Kaur Murder Case: Chandigarh Police Arrest Alleged Associate, Recover SUV

Chandigarh Police have made a significant arrest in the murder investigation of Punjabi influencer Manjeet Kaur, taking 25-year-old Parminder Singh alias Pinda into custody. Investigators allege that Pinda was associated with the prime suspect, identified as Rinku, and was present when Kaur was allegedly abducted from Chandigarh’s Sector 34.

Police have also recovered a Toyota Fortuner believed to have been used in the alleged abduction. The vehicle was found at the Sector 48 Motor Market in Chandigarh.

The investigation remains underway as police attempt to establish the arrested man’s precise role and locate the main accused.

Who Is Parminder Singh, the Man Arrested in the Case?

According to police, Parminder Singh, also known as Pinda, is a resident of Khanowal village in Punjab’s Kapurthala district.

Investigators said he had been operating an immigration-related business in Kharar. However, police allege that shortly before the incident, he began working as a driver for Rinku.

The two men were also known to each other, according to the investigation.

Police suspect that Pinda was present with Rinku when Manjeet Kaur was allegedly called to Sector 34 during the intervening night of July 3 and July 4.

His custody is expected to help investigators reconstruct what happened before and after Kaur was allegedly taken from Chandigarh.

Police Recover Toyota Fortuner

A Toyota Fortuner allegedly connected to the case has been recovered from the Sector 48 Motor Market.

Investigators believe the vehicle may have been used during the alleged kidnapping.

The recovery could prove important as police work to establish the movements of the suspects and reconstruct the sequence of events.

Police have obtained remand of Pinda and are questioning him about his alleged involvement, the whereabouts of Rinku and whether other people were involved in the incident.

What Happened to Manjeet Kaur?

According to the statement given by Kaur’s mother, Kanta Devi, Manjeet was allegedly called to Sector 34 by Rinku and Pinda.

The complaint alleges that the two men assaulted her and took her away in a vehicle.

Police are investigating the allegation that Kaur was subsequently taken to a forested area near Morinda, where she was allegedly tied to a tree and set on fire.

A person known to Manjeet reportedly reached the location after the attack and found her critically injured.

The person was able to extinguish the flames using a blanket before she was taken to hospital.

Manjeet Kaur Underwent Treatment

Kaur was initially admitted to a hospital in Morinda in critical condition.

She was later referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh, for further treatment.

She was subsequently shifted to Max Hospital in Mohali, where she remained under medical care for several days before being referred back to PGIMER.

Despite treatment, Kaur eventually died from her injuries.

Her death led to a murder investigation, with police subsequently focusing on identifying and apprehending those allegedly responsible for the attack.

Police Search for Main Accused Rinku

With Pinda now in custody, investigators are concentrating on two major questions: what role he allegedly played in the crime and where Rinku went following the incident.

Police teams have reportedly conducted searches at several locations while attempting to trace the main accused.

Investigators are also examining the circumstances surrounding Kaur’s alleged abduction and subsequent attack to determine whether the crime involved any wider conspiracy or additional individuals.
