Malavika Mohanan Calls Out ‘Distasteful’ Questions About Vijay and Trisha at Public Event

Actor Malavika Mohanan has responded after a video of her reacting to an uncomfortable question involving Vijay and Trisha Krishnan went viral on social media. The actor has now addressed the incident publicly and criticised the “distasteful” nature of certain questions asked during the media interaction.

Taking to X, Malavika said she respects the Tamil Nadu media but felt some questions crossed personal boundaries.

“I went for an event yesterday, and while I have the utmost regard for all the journalists and members of the Tamil Nadu media, a couple of them persistently asked some very distasteful questions that were completely unnecessary and sensational,” she wrote.

She also spoke about her friendship with Vijay and requested that future interactions remain respectful.

“Thalapathy Vijay is someone I’ve known for the past seven years, someone I have a lot of respect for, and someone I’m grateful to call a friend. Watching his journey has been nothing short of incredible,” Malavika added.

“I would really appreciate it if future media interactions could be kept respectful and considerate for the sake of everyone involved. Thank you.”

What Happened at the Event?

During the media interaction, Malavika was reportedly asked about Vijay and Trisha Krishnan being seen together recently. Reacting to the question, the actor appeared uncomfortable and responded:

“What all questions you are asking me?”

The clip quickly spread online, with many social media users supporting Malavika and criticising the question as intrusive and unnecessary. Several fans praised the actor for maintaining composure during the awkward moment.

Malavika Mohanan and Vijay’s Professional Bond

Malavika Mohanan previously worked with Vijay in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s blockbuster film Master released in 2021. The action drama also featured Vijay Sethupathi, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Gouri G Kishan in key roles.

The film became one of the biggest Tamil hits of its time and played a major role in reviving theatre audiences after the pandemic slowdown.

In an earlier interview with Variety India, Malavika had shared details about her first interaction with Vijay on the sets of Master.

“He is very quiet and very disciplined on set, very observant. He’s completely tuned in,” she had said.

She further described Vijay as someone approachable and supportive.

“He went on to become a very dear friend and he is super fun. He is somebody I can call up and reach out to,” she shared.

Vijay and Trisha Continue to Fuel Speculation

Vijay and Trisha Krishnan remain one of Tamil cinema’s most talked-about on-screen pairs. The duo has worked together in several successful films including Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Kuruvi and Leo.

In recent months, speculation surrounding their relationship intensified after the two were spotted together at public events, including a wedding reception in Chennai and Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

Despite ongoing rumours, neither Vijay nor Trisha has publicly commented on the speculation surrounding their personal lives.
