Actor Sumanth is gearing up for his next big-screen outing with Mahendragiri Varahi, a spiritual mystery thriller directed by Santosh Jagarlamudi. Following the positive response to the recently released teaser, the filmmakers have officially announced that the movie will release in theatres on September 11.

The announcement was made during a special event attended by the cast and crew, where Sumanth shared details about the film’s journey and expressed confidence in its theatrical appeal.

A Story Rooted in Faith and Mystery

Set against the backdrop of Mahendragiri, the film revolves around the divine powers of Goddess Varahi while weaving together elements of mystery, suspense and supernatural intrigue.

Speaking at the release date announcement, Sumanth revealed that the project has been in development for nearly two and a half years.

“The journey of Mahendragiri Varahi began nearly two-and-a-half years ago. After director Santosh narrated the story to me, we were looking for the right producers. That is when Madhu and Lakshman came on board. They are very passionate about filmmaking and have provided everything the film needed.”

He also thanked audiences for the encouraging response to the teaser and hinted that the promotional material only scratches the surface of the story.

“What you have seen in the teaser is just a glimpse. The film has many more twists, unexpected moments and surprises that audiences won’t see coming. With the blessings of Goddess Varahi, we are planning to release the film on September 11.”

Sumanth added that he believes viewers will enjoy experiencing the film on the big screen.

Manju Bhargavi Calls the Film Personally Meaningful

Veteran actress Manju Bhargavi, who plays a significant role in the film, described the project as deeply personal.

She said being part of a story centered on Goddess Varahi holds special significance because of her own spiritual devotion.

“This film will always remain memorable for me. There have been many devotional films, but this one is special because I am a devoted follower of Goddess Varahi. I feel blessed to be part of this film and to play such an important role.”

Producers Kalipu Madhu and Lakshman, who are backing the project under the Rajshyamala Entertainments and Bridge Films banners, said the teaser has generated encouraging industry response.

Producer Madhu revealed that the film has already completed its theatrical business following the teaser launch.

He also confirmed that the promotional campaign will continue in the coming weeks.

“The response to the teaser has been very encouraging, and we have successfully closed the theatrical business. I am confident that audiences will love the film.”

The producers also announced plans to release the official trailer along with two songs before the film reaches theatres.
