Actress Maanvi Gagroo is preparing for the release of her upcoming film Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry, a road-trip drama co-starring Patralekhaa. Directed by Kartik Chaudhry, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 29.
The story follows two women who begin a rebellious motorcycle journey to Pondicherry, eventually discovering freedom, healing and emotional clarity along the way.
Known for performances in Four More Shots Please! and Tripling, Maanvi plays Heer, a character she describes as fearless and deeply comfortable with herself.
‘The Script Felt Light Yet Emotional’
Speaking about what attracted her to the project, Maanvi said the screenplay immediately connected with her because of its emotional simplicity and relatable tone.

According to the actress, the film balances humour and emotional depth naturally.
“It’s a simple story, but it has moments that really touch your heart,” she added.
Maanvi Describes Heer as Fearless and Instinctive
Talking about her character, Maanvi revealed that Heer lives with spontaneity and rarely lets fear control her choices.
“There’s a sense of abandon that Heer has. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it,” the actress explained.

At its core, Heer Sara Aur Pondicherry also examines social expectations placed on women and the importance of personal freedom.
Maanvi said she hopes the film inspires women to travel, explore and experience life independently.
“I believe travelling expands us in ways very few things can,” she shared.
The actress pointed out that many women spend their lives without ever travelling alone or stepping outside familiar boundaries.
“The freedom to make mistakes, rise above them and discover yourself is something I hope audiences take away from this film,” she added.
Bond With Patralekhaa Grew Naturally
Maanvi also opened up about working with Patralekhaa and revealed that their off-screen friendship evolved similarly to their characters’ relationship in the film.
“There’s an arc to their relationship. They don’t begin as friends but gradually build a connection during the journey,” she explained.
According to Maanvi, the same happened in real life while filming together.
“We knew each other socially, but we developed a lovely working relationship along the way,” she said.
