KBC 18: Wamiqa Gabbi Recalls Meeting Amitabh Bachchan, Says ‘Middle-Class Families Will Understand’

Wamiqa Gabbi recently opened up about one of the most emotional moments of her Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 appearance — meeting Amitabh Bachchan and seeing her family sitting in the audience.

For the Bhool Chuk Maaf actress, stepping onto the iconic KBC hot seat was more than just a television appearance. It reminded her of the days when she would sit with her family and watch Amitabh host the quiz show on television.

Wamiqa Gabbi Says KBC Took Her Back To Childhood

Sharing a video from the episode on Instagram, Wamiqa reflected on how surreal it felt to go from watching Kaun Banega Crorepati at home to eventually becoming part of the show herself.

She recalled being a young girl sitting with her family without knowing where life would take her. Years later, she found herself sitting on the KBC hot seat, with Amitabh Bachchan across from her.

The actress said the moment truly sank in when Amitabh sat down in front of her and she looked towards her family in the audience.

Wamiqa described the journey from the family sofa to the KBC hot seat as feeling like “an entire lifetime.”

‘Middle-Class Families Will Understand’

Wamiqa also highlighted why the moment carried such significance for her and her family.

In her Instagram note, the actress said that people from middle-class families would perhaps understand the emotion behind such a milestone particularly well. According to Wamiqa, certain achievements stop being individual accomplishments and become shared family moments.

She wrote that although there was only one person sitting on the hot seat that day, it felt as though her entire family was sitting there with her.

Her reflection ended on a philosophical note as she described life as unpredictable and beautiful.

Wamiqa Reveals What Her Father Told Her After Working With Jaya Bachchan

During the episode, Wamiqa also shared a personal anecdote about her father and her acting journey.

Speaking to Amitabh Bachchan, she recalled that she had been working for several years and had always tried to do a good job. She then remembered her father’s reaction after she worked with Jaya Bachchan.

According to Wamiqa, her father told her, “Now you’re working.”

She went on to joke that she was now “a little closer to Amitabh sir’s house,” describing the progression as part of her route towards becoming an actor.

The exchange offered a glimpse into how her family viewed the milestones in her career.

Amitabh Bachchan responded by addressing Wamiqa’s parents and reassuring them about their daughter’s work.
