Katrina Kaif has opened up about how motherhood changed her skincare routine and her perspective on beauty. The actor, who welcomed her son Vihaan with husband Vicky Kaushal in November 2025, recently discussed postpartum skin sensitivity, self-care and what “looking your best” means to her today.
Katrina’s comments come amid a recent social media controversy surrounding her appearance at a Ganpati celebration. After the actor made a rare public appearance, some social media users shared comparisons of her pre- and post-pregnancy photographs and made comments about her appearance and weight. Actors including Ali Zafar, Sonarika Bhadoria and Shivaleeka Oberoi subsequently spoke out against the body-shaming directed at Katrina.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Katrina discussed her own experience with post-pregnancy skin changes and explained how her approach to beauty has evolved since the beginning of her career.

Add Hunterfly on Google“Post-pregnancy, my skin became even more sensitive, so it was a really tricky time because I had to understand what products were working for me. I found myself looking for products that felt soothing, calming and restorative,” she said.
Rather than following a fixed approach, Katrina said she had to pay attention to how her skin was responding and identify products that felt comfortable and restorative.
‘Looking My Best Is Really About Feeling My Best’
Katrina also reflected on how her definition of beauty has changed since she entered modelling and acting.
“When I started out early through my modelling and acting career, there were a lot of stereotypes about what the beauty standards were. Now for me, looking my best is really about feeling my best, and that comes from taking care of myself as a whole,” she said.
For Katrina, this broader approach includes several aspects of everyday wellbeing.

It all makes a huge difference to how I feel, and ultimately how my skin behaves. I think when you feel healthy, that confidence naturally reflects on the outside,” she added.
Her comments shift the focus away from appearance alone and towards habits that she says help her feel healthier and more balanced.
Katrina Says Family Time Helps Her Stay Grounded
Beyond skincare and fitness, Katrina said spending time away from work is important for maintaining a sense of balance.

The actor, who balances her film career with her beauty brand Kay Beauty, acknowledged that stepping away from work does not always come naturally to her.
“It’s ingrained in me to constantly be working and creating something, whether with films or with Kay Beauty, so learning to have moments where you disconnect is important to recharge and reset,” Katrina explained.
She also highlighted the importance of creating periods of quiet in an increasingly digital environment.
“In today’s fast-paced world, where there is limitless information and entertainment available through digital mediums, creating moments of stillness and quiet for the mind to be calm is important,” she concluded.
Katrina’s remarks come at a time when her recent public appearance has generated discussion about postpartum changes. Her own account, however, focuses on adapting to changes in her skin, taking care of her overall wellbeing and redefining what feeling confident means to her.
