New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday cautioned parties against melodrama in the ongoing legal dispute involving Karisma Kapoor’s children and their late father Sunjay Kapur’s estate. The warning came after a claim was raised regarding unpaid school fees for one of Karisma’s children, Samaira.
Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, representing Karisma Kapoor’s children, told the court that under the matrimonial decree, Sunjay Kapur was responsible for their expenses. He added that the children’s estate is currently with Priya Kapur, and it is her responsibility to cover the costs.
Justice Jyoti Singh remarked, “I don’t want this hearing to be melodramatic,” instructing counsel to avoid raising such matters unnecessarily in court.
Priya Kapur Challenges Fee Claims
Senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, appearing for Priya Kapur, countered the claims, asserting that all expenses for the children have been met. He also suggested that the issue was being highlighted to attract media attention.

Background of the Estate Dispute
The court was hearing an interim injunction application filed by Karisma Kapoor’s children seeking to restrain Priya Kapur from alienating Sunjay Kapur’s assets. The main suit alleges that Priya Kapur forged Sunjay Kapur’s will to gain full control of his 30,000 crore estate.
The case involves Karisma’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, seeking their rightful share in their late father’s wealth. Sunjay Kapur, who passed away in June while playing polo in London due to a heart attack, left behind a complex estate that is now the center of the ongoing legal battle.
The Delhi High Court has listed the matter for continuing arguments next week.
