Jyotirmoyee Kundu Confirmed as Second Heroine in Shakib Khan’s ‘Prince’

Kolkata actor Jyotirmoyee Kundu has been confirmed as the second heroine in Shakib Khan’s upcoming Eid film ‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’.

The casting decision completes the film’s previously announced two-heroine setup. Director Abu Hayat Mahmud had earlier confirmed that the project would feature two female leads, with Tanjin Tisha announced as one of the heroines last week.

Several sources associated with the film’s production company, Creative Land, have confirmed Jyotirmoyee’s inclusion. Reports also indicate that the Kolkata actor has formally signed her contract for the project.

Jyotirmoyee Kundu Joins Shakib Khan’s ‘Prince’

Jyotirmoyee’s casting adds another Kolkata-based performer to the growing cross-border collaboration surrounding Prince.

She was reportedly considered for the role after another Kolkata actor, Idhika Pal, had previously been under consideration. With Jyotirmoyee now confirmed, she will join Shakib Khan and Tanjin Tisha in the film’s principal cast.

The action-oriented production is being produced by Shirin Sultana, with filming scheduled to begin in the first week of December.

The film’s title, Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka, indicates a story connected to the capital, while the production has been positioned as one of Shakib Khan’s major Eid releases.

From ‘Bodhua’ to the Big Screen

Jyotirmoyee Kundu began her acting career with the popular Kolkata television serial ‘Bodhua’.

She subsequently moved into feature films and appeared opposite established Kolkata star Dev in Projapoti 2. The film is scheduled for release in December and marks another significant step in the actor’s early career.

Her addition to Prince now gives her an opportunity to work in the Bangladeshi film industry alongside one of the country’s biggest mainstream stars.

‘Prince’ Builds Its Two-Heroine Cast

The confirmation of Jyotirmoyee follows the announcement of Tanjin Tisha as the film’s other heroine.

Director Abu Hayat Mahmud had previously indicated that the screenplay was designed around two female characters, making the casting an important part of the production setup.

With the principal female cast now taking shape, attention will turn to the beginning of filming and further details about the characters.

For Jyotirmoyee, Prince represents another notable project at a relatively early stage of her film career. Her back-to-back association with Projapoti 2 and Shakib Khan’s Eid release could further raise her profile among audiences on both sides of the Bengal border.
