Assamese content creator Jugamaya Dutta, who was based in Tinsukia, has passed away, prompting an outpouring of grief from friends, followers and well-wishers on social media. As tributes continue to appear online, a family member has urged people to avoid speculation about the circumstances surrounding her death while the investigation continues.
Junali Barmon Gogoi, a relative of Jugamaya, shared a video on Instagram in which she spoke about the family’s uncertainty and addressed questions circulating on social media.
Family Member Shares Jugamaya Dutta’s Wish to Return Home
In her video, Junali said Jugamaya had expressed a desire to return home just weeks after visiting her family in Assam. According to Junali, Jugamaya’s mother advised her against making another trip because she had recently travelled home for her father’s death anniversary and there were financial constraints, including the high cost of flight tickets.
The family member’s account has prompted further discussion online, but she emphasised that the circumstances surrounding Jugamaya’s death remain unclear to them.
Junali also asked social media users not to draw conclusions without knowing the full circumstances.
“Please do not make any comments without knowing the whole story. Only we know what has happened. Everyone is asking why she did what she did,” she said in the video.
Family Says It Was Unaware of Any Marital Difficulties
Junali also addressed online questions about Jugamaya’s marriage, saying the family was unaware of any serious disagreements between her and her husband.
According to her account, the family had not observed conflicts between the couple. She described her husband as someone who supported Jugamaya’s wishes and said she had not seen him raise his voice at her.
However, Junali’s comments reflect the family’s understanding of the relationship and do not establish what Jugamaya may or may not have experienced privately.
She urged people not to judge either Jugamaya or her husband before the facts become clear.
Police Investigation Underway
According to the information shared by the family, Jugamaya’s post-mortem examination was conducted at Royapettah Government Hospital, and her body was subsequently released for the final rites.
Junali said the police had taken Jugamaya’s mobile phone and were examining it as part of their investigation. She asked the public to allow the authorities to establish the facts rather than relying on unverified online claims.
The family has not publicly confirmed a cause of death in the information available for this report. Social media speculation about the circumstances should therefore not be treated as an established finding.
Family Appeals for Restraint as Tributes Continue
Jugamaya’s death has left her loved ones and online followers mourning her loss. Amid the grief, her family’s central message has been a request for privacy, restraint and respect while the investigation proceeds.
Junali reiterated that people should refrain from commenting on the case without knowing the full story, adding that further information may emerge through the official investigation.
Until the authorities release verified findings, the circumstances surrounding Jugamaya Dutta’s death remain unconfirmed. Respecting the family’s privacy and avoiding speculation are important as they navigate their loss.
