Director Atlee recently opened up about the much-anticipated Jawan 2, his upcoming collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan, and his excitement about working with Deepika Padukone in Allu Arjun’s next big project. Speaking to India Today, Atlee clarified the status of several projects while also hinting at what fans can expect from the future.
Jawan 2: Not Immediately, But Definitely in the Future
Three years ago, Shah Rukh Khan made headlines with three releases in a single year. While Dunki underperformed, Pathaan and Jawan broke box office records, with Jawan going on to become Shah Rukh Khan’s highest-grossing film ever. Fans have been eagerly waiting for a sequel, and Atlee addressed this curiosity directly.
“I think me and Shah Rukh sir will definitely work on something, but Jawan 2, I personally feel, may happen some years later, not immediately. But definitely, me and Shah Rukh sir will look into something when it comes into its own flow,” Atlee shared.
He emphasized that while the sequel may not arrive immediately, a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan remains firmly on the cards.

Atlee also opened up about working with Deepika Padukone in Allu Arjun’s upcoming film, tentatively titled AA22XA6. The project, reportedly a reincarnation drama, marks Deepika’s return to acting after motherhood.

“Every day, we are discovering something. I am aware of how everyone wants to hear about the film. And honestly, more than my audience, I am really waiting to tell them everything. We are spending sleepless nights working on it… once it’s done, trust me, everyone will enjoy it to the maximum,” he added.
Addressing Don 3 Rumors
Recently, rumors swirled about Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, including speculation that Ranveer Singh had exited the project and Shah Rukh Khan might replace him with Atlee as director. Atlee dismissed the claims outright.
“No, no. I also read it somewhere, but nothing like that. That’s a rumor, nothing at all,” he clarified.
