Hansika Motwani Once Opened Up About Embracing Her ‘Commercial Heroine’ Image During Bogan

Back during the promotional phase of the Tamil action entertainer Bogan, actor Hansika Motwani openly discussed her career choices and why she was comfortable being identified as a “commercial heroine” in the South film industry.

At the time, Hansika was one of the busiest actresses in Tamil cinema and had established herself through several mainstream commercial successes. While promoting Bogan alongside Ravi Mohan and Arvind Swamy, the actress explained that she was not in a hurry to move into women-centric cinema without feeling fully prepared as a performer.

Speaking in an earlier interaction, Hansika said she was satisfied with the kind of roles she was doing and believed that female-led films required greater maturity and acting experience.

“I’m happy with my commercial heroine tag. In Tamil filmdom, I’m just five years old and I feel I need more experience and maturity to pull off women-centric scripts,” Hansika had said.

The actress also clarified that she was open to exploring stronger female-led stories in the future, but only when she felt creatively ready for them.

“When the time is right, I will do female-centric films,” she added.

Hansika Motwani On Her Role In Bogan

Directed by Lakshman, Bogan featured Ravi Mohan and Arvind Swamy in lead roles, with Hansika playing an important character tied closely to the emotional arc of the story.

During the film’s promotions, Hansika described her role as emotionally significant and relatable for audiences.

“I play the hero’s driving force and the story revolves around my character. It’s a unique love story and everyone can easily relate to my character,” she had shared.

The film blended action, fantasy, romance and thriller elements, making it one of the widely discussed Tamil releases during that period.

Reuniting With Ravi Mohan Felt Special

Bogan also marked another collaboration between Hansika and Ravi Mohan. The actress had spoken warmly about reuniting with a familiar team and enjoying the atmosphere on set.

“It’s my third film with Ravi, second with director Lakshman and fourth with cinematographer Soundarajan,” Hansika had said while discussing the project.

She also recalled the positive environment during filming and described the experience as memorable.

“We had so much fun shooting every single day and there was never a dull moment. It really felt special to work with all of them again. It was a wonderful reunion,” the actress added.

Hansika Praised Arvind Swamy’s Professionalism

Apart from Ravi Mohan, Hansika had also appreciated senior actor Arvind Swamy for his professionalism and supportive nature during the shoot.
