A Gurugram professional’s career switch is drawing attention after she reportedly left a ₹1.5 lakh-a-month job at a Big Four firm and built a personal-branding business through LinkedIn. According to an account shared on social media, Shivangi now works with eight to nine clients, most of them based outside India, and earns around five to six times her previous monthly salary.

If the reported multiple is calculated directly from her earlier income, that would translate to approximately ₹7.5 lakh to ₹9 lakh a month. However, the income figures have not been independently verified.

Why Shivangi Left Her Big Four Job

Shivangi had what many professionals would consider a strong corporate career. Based in Gurugram, she was reportedly earning around ₹1.5 lakh every month while working at a Big Four company.

Despite the salary and professional stability, she increasingly wanted greater independence.

According to the account of her journey, watching a friend build a business prompted her to think about entrepreneurship herself. The idea of creating something of her own became increasingly attractive, although she was initially uncomfortable with the idea of becoming visible online.

That hesitation would eventually lead her to an unexpected starting point.

She Started Building Her Presence on LinkedIn

Rather than immediately quitting her job to become a full-time content creator, Shivangi began experimenting with LinkedIn.

The approach was relatively simple: share her professional experiences, thoughts about work and insights from her career.

The platform gradually became more than a place to publish posts.

As her presence grew, people began approaching her for assistance with their own LinkedIn profiles and personal brands. What started as an effort to establish her own professional identity consequently developed into a service-based business.

From Posting Content to Finding International Clients

Shivangi’s reported business has since expanded to around eight or nine clients.

Most of those clients are reportedly located outside India, giving her access to an international customer base without being tied to a conventional office-based career.

The reported income is the most striking part of the transition.

At ₹1.5 lakh per month, her earlier annual salary would have been approximately ₹18 lakh, before taxes and other deductions.

A five-to-six-times increase would put the reported current monthly income at roughly ₹7.5 lakh to ₹9 lakh, or approximately ₹90 lakh to ₹1.08 crore annually if maintained consistently.

These calculations are based solely on the reported figures and should not be interpreted as independently verified earnings.

LinkedIn Is Becoming a Business Platform

Shivangi’s experience also reflects a broader change in how professionals use LinkedIn.

The platform was traditionally associated with recruitment, job searches and corporate networking. It has increasingly evolved into a place where professionals can demonstrate expertise, develop audiences and attract potential clients.

For freelancers, consultants, marketers, writers and personal-branding specialists, this can create a direct route between professional expertise and prospective customers.

A strong online presence can also remove geographical limitations. Someone based in Gurugram can, for example, market services to founders and professionals in the United States, Europe or other international markets.

She Wasn’t Comfortable With Being a Creator

One of the more interesting aspects of Shivangi’s reported journey is that she apparently did not begin with the intention of becoming an influencer or full-time creator.

Her hesitation about putting herself online could easily have prevented her from exploring the opportunity.

Instead, she started with a narrower objective: using LinkedIn to document and communicate her professional experience.

That gradual approach eventually exposed her work to people who needed the same type of service.

In other words, the audience was not necessarily the original business goal. It became a by-product of consistently demonstrating expertise.

The Bigger Lesson From Her Career Switch

The story is ultimately about more than leaving a ₹1.5 lakh salary.

Shivangi reportedly exchanged the predictability of corporate employment for the uncertainty of building a service business. The transition appears to have given her both greater earning potential and more control over the type of work she takes on.

However, her experience should not be interpreted as evidence that leaving a corporate job automatically leads to higher earnings. Her reported results depend on acquiring clients, delivering services, maintaining relationships and sustaining demand.

What her journey does demonstrate is how a professional platform such as LinkedIn can evolve into a source of business opportunities when expertise, content and networking come together.

For Shivangi, what began as a cautious attempt to become more visible professionally reportedly became the foundation for a business that now earns several times her previous salary.
