Director Vijay expresses pride in Sara Arjun’s rise after Dhurandhar

Director Vijay has spoken openly about actor Sara Arjun’s growing success after her appearance in the blockbuster film Dhurandhar.

Sara, who first gained recognition as a child actor in Vijay’s emotional drama Deiva Thirumagal (2011), has recently become a widely discussed name following her role in the high-budget action film starring Ranveer Singh.

‘She is like my own daughter’

In a recent interview, Vijay shared his happiness over Sara’s rise in the industry and described her as family.

He said she spent significant time at his home during her childhood, often visiting for over a month after completing school exams.

“She is like my own daughter. More than her parents, she has spent time with me. I am extremely happy seeing my child become such a big star,” he reportedly said.

The filmmaker also praised her discipline and professionalism, adding that he feels proud whenever the team behind Dhurandhar speaks positively about her.

Sara had earlier collaborated with Vijay again in the critically acclaimed film Saivam (2014), further strengthening their professional bond.

Sara’s role in Dhurandhar

In Dhurandhar, Sara portrayed Yalina Jamali, the daughter of a Pakistani politician who marries Ranveer Singh’s character Hamza.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film turned into a massive global success, reportedly earning over ₹1000 crore worldwide.

A sequel titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for theatrical release on March 19, continuing the franchise’s storyline.

Vijay’s upcoming projects

Following his recent work on Kadhal Reset Repeat — which stars Arjun Ashokan, Madumkesh and Jiya Shankar — Vijay is now focusing on a special documentary-style feature.

He is reportedly working on documenting the racing career and achievements of Ajith Kumar, exploring the actor’s passion for motorsports and his accomplishments on the track.
