The upcoming action spectacle Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, is creating massive buzz even before its release.
The film has already broken the record for the highest paid previews for a Bollywood movie, surpassing the benchmark set by Stree 2.
Two Lakh Tickets Sold for Paid Previews
As per early trade estimates, the film has sold around 2,00,000 tickets for its paid preview shows, generating approximately ₹9 crore nett in advance bookings.
A large portion of these sales has come from the country’s biggest multiplex chains:

Together, these chains have accounted for nearly 1.41 lakh tickets, contributing almost 80 percent of the preview revenue.
Surpassing the Stree 2 Benchmark
With ₹9 crore already collected in preview sales, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has overtaken the previous Bollywood record of ₹8.75 crore, held by Stree 2.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the film has reached this milestone without a single preview show being screened yet. The record has been achieved purely through advance booking within just two days of sales opening, while the film still has around 10 days left before release.
Next Target: All-India Paid Preview Record
The focus now shifts to the all-India paid preview record, which currently belongs to They Call Him OG, with approximately ₹26 crore in preview collections.
Trade analysts believe Dhurandhar: The Revenge has a strong chance of approaching or even surpassing this figure by the time preview screenings begin.

Interestingly, every Bollywood film that has broken the paid preview record since Ghajini has gone on to become the highest-grossing Hindi film at the time of its release.
The latest example was Jawan, which was later overtaken by Stree 2.
Because of this pattern, trade insiders believe Dhurandhar: The Revenge could also emerge as a record-breaking blockbuster.

Advance booking is expected to continue at a strong pace in the coming days. Industry projections suggest the preview sales alone could approach ₹20 crore before release, with the potential to cross ₹30 crore once full capacity is unlocked.
The film’s opening day could be affected slightly since the expected Eid holiday will now fall on March 21 instead of release day, meaning the first day will not be a nationwide holiday. However, regional festivals like Ugadi and Gudi Padwa will still boost collections in key markets such as Mumbai and parts of South India.
Even without a full national holiday advantage, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is widely expected to break several advance booking and opening day records at the Indian box office.
