In a recent conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, the actor revealed that her idea of success has evolved dramatically after more than a decade of leading blockbuster franchises and headlining films that crossed hundreds of crores at the box office.

Deepika explained that the industry’s traditional measures of stardom—hefty paychecks, box office milestones, and high-value signings—no longer resonate with her.

“How much more fame, how much more money? At this stage, it’s not about that anymore. It’s not about the ₹100-crore films, or even the ₹500–600 crore ones,”
she said, highlighting a shift in her priorities.

“Anything that doesn’t feel true to me doesn’t cut it. Some projects offer a lot of money and assume that’s enough. But it isn’t. And sometimes a film isn’t commercially huge, but I believe in the message—and I’ll still do it.”

After producing films such as Chhapaak through KA Productions, Deepika says she is more excited about supporting new talent than simply leading mega productions herself.
