Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez Reveal Exclusive Wedding Photos With Vogue

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have finally given the public a glimpse of their closely guarded wedding, with Vogue publishing an exclusive collection of photographs from the couple’s intimate celebration.

The wedding had remained one of the most closely protected celebrity events of the year. Although speculation about when and where Ronaldo and Georgina would marry had been circulating for some time, the couple managed to keep the ceremony private until they shared their wedding news themselves.

The couple reportedly married at their home in Cascais on Tuesday, August 11, at 1:30pm, exactly 10 years after their first meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Georgina was working as a sales assistant.

Ronaldo and Georgina chose an intimate ceremony

Rather than hosting the huge celebrity wedding many had imagined, Ronaldo and Georgina opted for a private ceremony surrounded by their children and a very small group of people close to them.

Their five children were present, along with four witnesses. The witnesses included Ronaldo’s longtime friend Miguel Paixão, Georgina’s sister Ivana Rodríguez, and friends José Rodríguez Sangil and Mónica González Martínez.

The couple also reportedly married under a separation-of-assets arrangement.

While those details had already emerged, the photographs were kept private until the Vogue exclusive. The magazine has now revealed images from the ceremony as well as photographs documenting the couple and their family at home.

Georgina and Ronaldo keep their wedding style understated

The photographs show that the couple chose a relatively understated look for their wedding day.

Ronaldo wore a light-coloured suit with a white shirt, leaving the shirt open without a tie. Georgina opted for a white skirt-and-jacket ensemble paired with a matching white shirt.

The Vogue photographs, captured by photographer Juergen Teller, also highlight details of the couple’s life away from the football pitch and red carpets.

Georgina is pictured wearing Chopard jewellery, including photographs taken by the pool and during a workout. Other images feature elements of her shoe collection, while Ronaldo is seen with his rosary beads.

The magazine also published images of Georgina with the couple’s children, giving readers a glimpse of the family’s celebrations following the ceremony.

Georgina reveals why she wanted a private wedding

For Georgina, the decision to keep the wedding intimate represented a change from the grand ceremony she once imagined as a child.

“When I was little, I dreamed of the biggest castle, the grandest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. Now I say: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home,” Georgina told Vogue.

She explained that many of the extravagant things she once dreamed about are already within reach because of the life she and Ronaldo have built.

“But something intimate, that is much rarer for us,” she added.

The sentiment also helps explain why the couple chose to keep the ceremony away from the public eye.

A private celebration becomes a Vogue exclusive

Although the wedding itself was deliberately kept small, Ronaldo and Georgina have now opened the door to the public through their Vogue collaboration.

The magazine’s digital edition features the couple on its cover, while the wedding photographs document everything from their outfits and jewellery to family moments at home.

The photographs also reportedly show the couple and their children attending a Mass to bless their union after the civil ceremony.

For a couple whose personal lives attract enormous international attention, the decision to make privacy part of the celebration appears to have been intentional.
