Kannada actor Chaithra Achar has publicly spoken out against alleged online harassment after sharing screenshots of inappropriate messages she reportedly received from a man said to be linked to the police department. The actor tagged Bengaluru City Police while posting about the incident on social media, drawing significant attention online.
According to Chaithra, the individual identified as Mahesh Hosamani later apologised after she uploaded screenshots of the conversation publicly. In the apology message, he reportedly requested her to remove the post, claiming his actions were driven by “concern” and expressing fear that the controversy could affect his job.
Chaithra, however, chose not to delete the posts and questioned why the sender failed to consider her dignity and professional standing before making the remarks. She also shared screenshots of the apology message on Instagram, continuing her stand against abusive online behaviour.
The actor has previously addressed trolling and harassment on social media platforms. While Chaithra often shares updates from her personal life and film projects with followers, she has repeatedly criticised vulgar and disrespectful comments directed at women online.
