Actor Celina Jaitly has shared an emotional message following the death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, speaking about abuse, isolation and emotional suffering within marriages. In a detailed Instagram post, Celina reflected on the realities many women face behind closed doors and connected the case with her own personal experiences.
Twisha Sharma’s death has sparked nationwide attention after her family accused her husband and mother-in-law of dowry harassment and abetment to suicide. Her last rites were conducted on Sunday, 12 days after her death, following a second postmortem ordered by the court.

In her note, Celina described Twisha Sharma as an educated and talented woman whose life became consumed by emotional pain and isolation.
“The heartbreaking case of Twisha Sharma has shaken the entire nation,” she wrote.

According to Celina, the case reflects a disturbing reality where the suffering of women often becomes normalised over time.

Celina wrote that abuse within marriage is not always visible through physical injuries.
“Marriage is not always happily ever after,” she said, adding that some forms of violence remain unseen because they involve emotional isolation, humiliation, and loneliness.
She explained that abuse can sometimes mean being cut off from family, losing emotional support, or constantly being made to feel like the problem.

She appealed to families not to ignore signs of emotional distress and abuse.
Celina’s Ongoing Legal Battle
In November last year, Celina Jaitly filed a case against her husband, Austrian hotelier Peter Haag, accusing him of domestic violence, cruelty and manipulation. She reportedly sought compensation of Rs 50 crore.
The actor has also spoken publicly about the emotional challenges of staying away from her children, Winston and Viraaj.
