In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Malti’s father Lokendra Singh Chahar expressed his deep disappointment and emotional hurt over the remark.
He said:
“No one would be hurt more than a father to hear such a thing about his daughter. A father can tolerate anything but nothing against his daughter. There are deep emotions attached to a father–daughter relationship. It was good I didn’t visit the house, or else I would’ve given Kunickaa ji a piece of my mind.”
His reaction highlights how personal and sensitive the issue became for the family.

During a conversation with contestant Tanya Mittal, Kunickaa implied she was “100% sure Malti is a lesbian,” based on Malti’s behaviour inside the house.
This statement was widely condemned online, with fans pointing out that discussing someone’s sexuality on national television is both insensitive and inappropriate.
Salman Khan Confronts Kunickaa; She Issues a Public Apology
On a later episode, host Salman Khan addressed the remark, calling it “unacceptable” and “insensitive.”
Kunickaa then apologised on-air, admitting she regretted the statement.
She said:
“I’m ashamed of what I’ve said. Some things inside the house made me realise sides of myself I didn’t know existed. I always believed I was calm and composed, but maybe the atmosphere triggered me.”
Kunickaa added that she personally apologised to Malti on her birthday in front of her family and Deepak Chahar. Salman appreciated her for taking responsibility, but the controversy continues to trend online as discussions around respect, boundaries, and sensitive topics remain in the spotlight.
