Asur 3: Ahsaas Channa Joins Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti in the New Season

Ahsaas Channa has joined the cast of Asur 3, the upcoming third season of the popular psychological crime thriller, which is currently in production and is expected to premiere on JioHotstar in mid-2027.

Ahsaas Channa is stepping into the dark and intense world of Asur. The actress, known for her performances in popular youth-oriented series including Girls Hostel, Kota Factory and Hostel Daze, has joined the cast of Asur 3.

The new season brings her into an ensemble that includes returning stars Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka, Vishesh Bansal and Shweta Basu Prasad.

With filming already underway, the third instalment is shaping up to continue the thriller franchise while introducing new characters and another layer to its central mystery.

For Ahsaas, joining Asur 3 is particularly meaningful because she was already a fan of the series.

Speaking to Variety India, the actress expressed her excitement about becoming part of the show and working with its established cast.

“I am beyond thrilled to join ‘Asur 3,’ especially after being one of the biggest fans of the show,” Ahsaas said.

She described the opportunity to work with actors including Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti and Ridhi Dogra as surreal, while promising that the upcoming season would raise the show’s thriller quotient.

“I promise that ‘Asur 3’ will take the thrill and intensity several notches higher,” she added.

Her casting adds another recognisable young performer to a franchise that has built its reputation around psychological tension, crime investigation and mythology-inspired storytelling.

‘Asur 3’ gets a new creative team

The upcoming season also marks a change behind the camera.

Oni Sen, who directed the first two seasons, is not returning as the director for the third instalment. Filmmaker Gaurav Shukla is taking over the director’s chair.

Shukla is already closely associated with the Asur franchise, having written both of the earlier seasons. His previous credits also include work connected with projects such as Angrezi Medium, The Girl on the Train and Saare Jahan Se Accha.

For the new season, Gaurav Shukla is also set to serve as a producer and will co-direct the series with advertising filmmaker Shwetabh Varma.

The change in the directorial team could bring a different visual and narrative approach to the next chapter while retaining the creative foundation established by the earlier seasons.

Production on Asur 3 is currently underway and is expected to continue until December 2026.

The makers are reportedly targeting a mid-2027 release on JioHotstar. An exact premiere date has not been announced.
