Actor and reality television personality Archana Gautam has shared CCTV footage that she says shows a theft at her Mumbai café, Oye Churros.
The Bigg Boss 16 fame actor posted the footage on Instagram and alleged that a man entered the café in the early hours of September 24 and took away the cash counter. According to the timestamp visible in the CCTV footage shared by Archana, the incident occurred at around 3:30 am.
Archana also said she has filed an FIR in connection with the incident and appealed to the Mumbai Police to identify the person seen in the footage and take appropriate legal action.
Archana Gautam shares CCTV footage from café
Sharing the video on Instagram, Archana alleged that the person seen in the footage entered her café and removed the entire cash counter.
“The video you are seeing is from my café. This boy came to my café and took away the entire cash counter,” she said while sharing the CCTV footage.
She expressed shock over the incident and questioned why her café had been targeted.
The footage was shared publicly by Archana as she urged people to remain alert about the security of their homes and businesses.
Archana says she has filed an FIR
In the accompanying Instagram caption, Archana said Oye Churros was built using her own savings and that she had personally invested considerable effort in setting up the café.
“I built this café with a lot of love and hard work, investing my own savings. I personally put a lot of effort into every single thing here,” she wrote.
Archana then said that a thief had entered the café and stolen the cash counter.
“I have filed an FIR regarding the incident and humbly request the Mumbai Police to find this person as soon as possible and take appropriate legal action,” she added.
The actress also shared the CCTV footage as a warning to other business owners and members of the public.
Archana Gautam says the incident left her saddened
Archana said the alleged burglary was particularly upsetting because of her perception of Mumbai as a safe city.
“Mumbai has always seemed like a safe city to me, which is why this incident has left me deeply saddened,” she wrote.
She concluded her post by urging people to remain vigilant about the security of their surroundings.
“I only request all of you to stay alert, stay safe, and pay attention to the security of your surroundings,” she added.
The police investigation and any identification or arrest arising from the FIR would be separate from Archana’s social media account of the incident.
