Anjali Anand Shows Her Luxury Bag Collection; Farah Khan Jokes, ‘I’ll Have to Sell 2 Cars to Buy This’

Anjali Anand recently gave Farah Khan a glimpse of her Mumbai home and her impressive handbag collection, including a luxury Birkin, during the filmmaker-choreographer’s latest vlog. The actor also spoke candidly about her career, revealing that she currently has no acting project on hand despite her recent appearance in Dhamaal 4.

Farah Khan, accompanied by her cook Dilip, visited Anjali at her Mumbai residence, where the actor lives with her mother. Their conversation moved from Anjali’s acting journey and time away from work to her quirky home décor and collection of designer handbags.

One particular moment involving a Birkin bag left Farah joking that she would have to sell two cars to afford it.

During the conversation, Farah asked Anjali about landing a role in a Karan Johar production early in her film career.

Anjali recalled going through a difficult period during the 2020 lockdown. She said she had reached a point where she considered giving up acting and moving abroad because she was not getting work.

According to Anjali, she was living alone in Mumbai at the time and her savings were eventually exhausted during the lockdown.

She then recalled receiving a call from casting director Shanoo Sharma while she was visiting Goa with friends.

Anjali said Sharma told her that Karan Johar had seen her photograph and liked her for a role. She also recalled that there were several influencers being considered, but Johar wanted an actor for the part.

That opportunity eventually led to Anjali being cast in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, where she appeared alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.

Anjali’s Mumbai home also became part of the vlog.

The residence includes several playful and unconventional details, including a flower-shaped wash basin, a mirror featuring a Diet Coke design, a hanging projector and a board marked “private” outside the bedroom.

Farah also asked Anjali about the warm clothes visible in the house despite Mumbai’s summer weather.

Anjali explained that she had returned from London only the previous day.

When Farah asked what she had travelled to London for and whether she had been shooting, Anjali responded candidly that she had not been working on a shoot.

“I wasn’t shooting, I don’t have any work.”

Farah responded positively, telling Anjali that not having work did not mean she could not travel and encouraging her not to lose confidence.

The conversation took another turn when Anjali showed Farah her handbag collection.

Among the bags was a black YSL tote, which prompted Farah to recall that owning a YSL bag had once been a personal aspiration for her.

Anjali also explained that she has a friend known for gifting luxury items. She recalled receiving a Gucci bag before meeting Karan Johar for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Her collection also included a Birkin bag, which became one of the highlights of the vlog.

During the unboxing, Farah joked about the cost of the luxury handbag.

“If we sell our two cars, then we can get this bag.”

Farah then jokingly suggested that Anjali could sell the expensive handbag and use the money towards buying a larger house.

Anjali subsequently showed more of her handbag collection, which included both luxury labels and bags collected from different places.

Explaining her enthusiasm for handbags, she said:

“I have a bag obsession. I get bags from everywhere.”

“But, no one is casting me. My beauty is going to waste.”

She also referred to Anjali’s recent film work while encouraging the actor to remain optimistic about her career.

The film, released theatrically on July 10, featured an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh, Jaaved Jaaferi, Sanjay Mishra, Ravi Kishan and Sanjeeda Sheikh, alongside Anjali.

Her appearance in the franchise gave her another prominent mainstream film role.
