Ameesha Patel Questions Producer-Funded Entourages of Female Actors

Ameesha Patel has questioned the growing cost of celebrity entourages during film promotions, claiming that some female actors travel with teams whose expenses are covered by producers. She also said she would rather wait for a strong project than appear in films she considers filler.

The Gadar 2 actor addressed the subject while responding to questions from fans on social media. In one response, she questioned whether the scale of some actors’ entourages is justified when the expenses are ultimately borne by film producers.

She wrote that some female actors are “in denial of their stardom” and alleged that their promotional entourages, when paid for by producers, can cost more than the films’ first-day collections.

The discussion comes amid wider conversations within the Hindi film industry about production budgets and the expenses associated with shooting and promoting films. In her social-media response, Ameesha said she would rather create a film with the impact of Gadar every few years than take on what she described as “RUBBISH filler films.”
