With rumours of a possible divorce gaining traction online, Akanksha has now stepped forward to firmly dismiss the claims and clarify her stance.
Akanksha Chamola shuts down separation rumours
Speaking to The Times of India, Akanksha categorically denied any trouble in her marriage and called the speculation baseless.
“There is absolutely no problem in our marriage, and the post had nothing to do with Gaurav,” she said. “I am not someone who discusses personal matters on social media. The post was meant to promote my upcoming series. It was open to interpretation, but it was blown completely out of proportion.”
The rumours stemmed from an Instagram post that read:
“Jis rishte ki buniyaad main sirf zarooratein ho, wahan dil hamesha qurbaan hota hai” — translated as “In a relationship built only on needs, it’s always the heart that gets sacrificed.”
Her caption, “Just when we thought we were ready, we weren’t,” further fuelled speculation.
Akanksha clarified that the message was a general thought, not reflective of her personal life or marriage.

Akanksha also responded to online trolling that linked the post to discussions around parenthood. The actor has previously spoken openly about her views on motherhood, which resurfaced amid the rumours.
“I am the troll queen right now,” she remarked. “I have always been transparent about this subject. Gaurav is more protective because he wants to safeguard my image. There is an age difference between us, and he is mature enough to understand my perspective.”
She added that choosing not to embrace motherhood is a personal decision, one she does not feel obligated to explain.
“I don’t see myself choosing motherhood, and that’s my choice. I don’t feel the need to justify it to anyone.”
On insecurity and public appearances
Since Gaurav Khanna’s Bigg Boss 19 victory, the couple has been under heightened public scrutiny. Addressing claims that she seeks attention or feels insecure about her husband’s success, Akanksha was unequivocal.
“I attend events with him because I am his partner, and it’s his choice to include me. In a relationship, you don’t compete—you support each other,” she said.
“Gaurav is far more successful, and why would I feel insecure about my partner’s success?”
