Actor Sharvari has opened up about the long-standing “beauty over talent” discussion in Bollywood, saying she believes audiences today value acting ability and authentic performances more than appearance alone.
The rising actor, who gained widespread popularity after the success of the song Taras from Munjya (2024), shared her thoughts ahead of the release of her upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga.
Sharvari on the Beauty vs Talent Debate
During a recent interview, Sharvari said she does not personally view the film industry through the lens of appearance overshadowing talent.
“I don’t view it that way and have never considered it,” she shared.
The actor added that today’s audiences are more interested in the quality of performances and how convincingly actors portray characters on screen.

“Nowadays, I believe what is valued is the actor you are and the skills you bring,” she said.
“Understanding the Role Comes First”
Sharvari explained that for her, the most important part of acting is understanding the character deeply rather than focusing on appearance.
“If I speak for myself, I prioritise understanding the role over everything else. All other aspects are secondary.”
Her comments reflect the changing landscape of Bollywood, where content-driven performances and unconventional characters are gaining wider appreciation.
