Radhika Apte Recalls Fear After Intimate Clip Leak: ‘I Literally Couldn’t Step Out of the House for Four Days’

Radhika Apte has opened up about a deeply unsettling experience involving the leak of an intimate clip from one of her films, revealing that she was so frightened by the situation that she stayed inside her home for four days. The actress said the incident made her realise how quickly something filmed for a professional project could spill into her personal life and affect her sense of safety.

Radhika, who is currently appearing in Lust Stories 3, was discussing the challenges actors can face while shooting intimate scenes when she recalled the incident. According to the actress, the situation became particularly distressing after she learned that people in her everyday surroundings had seen the leaked material.

Radhika Apte Says She Was Too Scared to Leave Home

Radhika explained that the consequences of an intimate scene do not necessarily end once filming is completed. In her case, the circulation of the leaked clip made her feel vulnerable even inside her own home.

“We were talking about being able to do intimate scenes, but once something I had done was leaked, I literally couldn’t step out of the house for four days,” Radhika recalled.

The actress said her biggest concern was the possibility that the online circulation could lead to unwanted encounters in the real world.

“The problem is that it can come home very quickly. Your doorbell can ring, and somebody can be outside your house because they felt offended. So, it’s not that easy. It’s much more complicated,” she said.

Her comments highlight the gap between an actor consenting to perform a scene for a film and the material subsequently being circulated outside its intended context.

People Around Her Had Seen the Leaked Material

Radhika said the situation became even more uncomfortable when she discovered that people she encountered as part of her daily life had already watched the clip.

She recalled being told by her stylist that the stylist’s driver had repeatedly watched it and even questioned why she was going to Radhika’s home.

Radhika also learned that her watchman had seen it.

“Things like that started happening, and it became very difficult to deal with,” she recalled.

For the actress, the incident was particularly frightening because she was living alone in an apartment at the time.

Radhika Asked Her Driver and Spot Dada for Protection

As her anxiety grew, Radhika decided to speak directly with two people who worked closely with her and could potentially help protect her.

She recalled telling her driver and spot dada about the leaked clip and asking whether they had seen it. She even offered them the option of leaving their jobs if they were uncomfortable working with her after seeing the material.

“I eventually called my driver and my spot dada and told them, ‘There is a clip that has been leaked. Have you seen it? Because if you have not, I’ll send it to you. Watch it. If you’re okay with it, then you have to protect me. Otherwise, do not work with me. Here’s your salary; you can go’,” she said.

According to Radhika, both men reassured her that they would look after her.

“And they both said, ‘We will look after you’. I was really scared because I was living alone at the time. So yes, it can get quite tricky,” she added.

Her account illustrates how an incident involving leaked private or intimate material can affect not only an actor’s professional life but also their relationships with people around them and their perception of personal security.

Fear Also Affected One of Radhika Apte’s Career Decisions

Radhika also revealed that the fear created by the broader environment at the time influenced another professional decision.

The actress said she once turned down a project she genuinely wanted to work on because she was concerned about how the political environment could affect her family.

Looking back, Radhika said she felt “ashamed” that fear had influenced her decision.

The revelation adds another dimension to her comments about the pressures actors can face away from the camera, where professional choices can sometimes become intertwined with concerns about personal and family safety.

Radhika Apte’s Life Beyond the Screen

Away from her professional work, Radhika and her husband, British musician Benedict Taylor, became parents to their first child, a baby girl, in December 2024.

The actress continues to balance motherhood with her acting career and is currently seen in Lust Stories 3, where she plays a middle-class housewife.
