Arifin Shuvoo Says ‘Noor’ Intimate Scene Emerged Naturally From the Story

Arifin Shuvoo has addressed the much-discussed intimate moment in Raihan Rafi’s film ‘Noor’, saying the scene was performed as part of the character and story rather than being included simply to attract attention.

The film, starring Shuvoo alongside Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, is now available to stream on Bioscope+. Interest in the project intensified after footage involving the two actors circulated online before its release.

Speaking about the scene, Shuvoo said his approach was to follow whatever the character and screenplay required.

“Whatever was required for Noor, I followed the character,” Shuvoo said.

He also pushed back against the description of the moment as simply a kiss, explaining that he viewed it as part of the characters’ emotional journey.

“It is not really a kiss. It is a moment. I did not feel uncomfortable because at that time I was fully inside the character.”

Shuvoo Says Intimate Scenes Must Have a Purpose

The actor made it clear that he is not opposed to intimate scenes when they are justified by the narrative.

For Shuvoo, the key consideration is whether such a sequence contributes meaningfully to the story or helps develop a character. He argued that intimate content should not be inserted merely as a promotional device.

“If the story demands it, I am ready to do what is necessary as an actor. It should not be done to create hype. There must be a genuine purpose.”

His comments place the discussion around Noor within a broader question about how intimate scenes are used in contemporary Bangladeshi cinema and whether such moments function as storytelling elements or publicity hooks.

The scene also renewed speculation about Shuvoo and Oishee’s relationship away from the screen.

Shuvoo, however, chose not to give the rumours much weight. He described such speculation as something that can happen in the entertainment industry and said his attention remains on the film.

“These things happen in showbiz. I do not give them importance. What matters is the film.”

His response keeps the focus on the professional collaboration between the two performers rather than speculation about their personal lives.
