Malayalam actor Ansiba Hassan has said she will not present her grievances before the current executive committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), insisting that only a newly formed or independent panel can fairly hear her concerns.
The actor’s latest remarks come days after she levelled serious allegations against AMMA executive committee members Tiny Tom and Lakshmipriya.
Ansiba stated that she continues to stand firmly by her claims and believes the current leadership had failed to address her concerns when she was part of the organisation.
‘I Felt Unheard Within AMMA’
Speaking about her resignation from AMMA, Ansiba said she lost confidence in the existing executive committee because she felt her complaints were not being taken seriously.

Add Hunterfly on Google“The very reason I left AMMA is because I felt the current executive committee was unwilling to listen to my concerns,” she said.
Ansiba added that she does not wish to return before the same committee and questioned why she should “humiliate” herself by approaching a body where she already felt ignored.
However, she clarified that she is willing to appear if:
- A new committee is formed
- The issue is brought before the AMMA general body
Ansiba Alleges Discrimination During Her Tenure
The Drishyam actor also alleged that she faced discrimination while serving as AMMA’s joint secretary.
According to Ansiba, previous office-bearers holding the same position were traditionally provided a cabin at the AMMA office, but she was denied the facility from the beginning.

- The nameplate traditionally assigned to the joint secretary was removed
- The space was instead reassigned to the treasurer
Ansiba said these incidents discouraged her from regularly visiting the organisation’s office.
“If I wasn’t even given a seat despite deserving one, why would I want to be there?” she asked.

Ansiba also questioned statements reportedly made by AMMA president Shweta Menon regarding allegations that she was being isolated within the organisation.
The actor challenged claims that she had been cornered and asked for specific examples to support such assertions.
She additionally alleged that Shweta Menon had supported Lakshmipriya during an earlier dispute involving a police complaint filed against Ansiba.
According to Ansiba, Lakshmipriya had acknowledged during an online AMMA meeting that the president had supported her side in the issue.
“If my issue was considered personal and not requiring AMMA’s intervention, why was support extended in the other case?” Ansiba questioned.
Lakshmipriya Responds to Allegations
Responding to the controversy, actor Lakshmipriya reiterated that she remains grateful to Shweta Menon for listening to her concerns during the earlier dispute.
She said the AMMA president acted out of humanitarian concern rather than in an official organisational capacity.
Lakshmipriya also claimed that she had approached the police only after attempts to resolve the matter directly with Ansiba did not succeed.
AMMA Yet to Issue Detailed Response
Attempts to contact Shweta Menon reportedly did not receive a response.
Meanwhile, AMMA general secretary Cuckoo Parameswaran stated that she could not comment publicly on the matter due to organisational bylaws.
The controversy has continued to attract attention within Malayalam cinema circles, with discussions growing around internal functioning, grievance handling, and transparency within film industry associations.
