She shares that although he is no longer alive, the values and teachings he passed on to her and her brother continue to shape her daily routine.

“Yoga keeps me moving, especially because of the nature of my work. All I need is a mat — or sometimes even no mat — and I can practice anywhere,” she says while speaking on the occasion of International Day of Yoga.

According to her, the practice strengthens not just the body but also mental resilience and emotional awareness. Through breathwork and pranayama, she believes individuals can better understand the connection between mood, stress, and overall well-being.

She adds that the deeper purpose of yoga is self-awareness and inner peace — often referred to as samadhi.

‘When I Took a Break, I Realised Anxiety Had Built Up’

Even though she practices regularly, Radhika admits she still considers herself a beginner.

She recalls taking a break from yoga due to a shoulder injury. During that time, she noticed a significant shift in her mental state.

Without her routine, anxiety and tension increased unexpectedly.

“That’s when I realised how much yoga had been supporting me,” she explains. “Yoga isn’t just what we do on the mat — it’s what we carry through the day.”

The experience strengthened her belief that consistency matters more than perfection.

“It doesn’t matter where I am — I can practice anytime. The options are endless,” she says.

She highlights that individuals can customise yoga according to their lifestyle and physical condition. A structured studio session is not mandatory; mindful movement anywhere can deliver benefits.

‘If You Want Good Health, You Need to Slow Down’

Addressing misconceptions that yoga is boring, Radhika says people often confuse slow movement with inactivity.

In today’s fast-paced environment, attention spans are shrinking, and many associate productivity with constant speed.

However, she believes stability and relaxation are frequently misunderstood as laziness.

“If you want good health, you need to slow down,” she adds, encouraging more open conversations around mindful living and recovery.

A Personal Connection to Wellness

Her perspective reflects both personal experience and family legacy — blending tradition with modern lifestyle demands.

Captured by photographer Karthikeyan Sairam at Hyatt Centric MG Road Bangalore, the interview highlights her commitment to wellness beyond film roles.

Through her journey, Radhika continues to advocate yoga as a daily tool for balance, clarity, and emotional strength.
