Mumbai: Malaika Arora has long been admired not just for her screen presence, but also for her disciplined approach to health and wellness. Despite being a self-confessed foodie, the actor has managed to maintain a fit and balanced lifestyle well into her 50s—without extreme diets or fads.
Born to a Malayali mother, Joyce Arora, Malaika has often spoken about her love for South Indian cuisine, particularly staples like dosa, idli, fish curry, and avial. When in Mumbai, she has a clear favourite.
“Madras Cafe is my go-to spot for an authentic South Indian meal in Mumbai,” Malaika told ThePrint.
When she craves traditional Maharashtrian food, however, she prefers something more personal. The actor revealed that she often visits the home of her close friend—fashion designer and filmmaker Vikram Phadnis—for a comforting, homely Marathi meal.

She also enjoys dishes like caramelised onion pasta and baked fish skillet. Internationally, her choices lean toward Thai cuisine and sushi.
“There’s a little surprise coming for all of you,” she hinted, teasing something food-related. With a smile, she added that she wasn’t revealing much—but it’s “again the food I love, the food we all love.”
Whether it’s a new menu or another culinary venture remains to be seen.
How Malaika Arora Stays Fit
