Shehnaaz Gill, who is currently in the spotlight for her latest release Ikk Kudi, is once again trending — not for her film, but for a personal revelation about her past relationships.

During a recent interview with the SMTV YouTube channel, the Bigg Boss 13 fame actor openly admitted that she once betrayed a man she was dating, adding that she reached that point because she was not feeling loved or appreciated by him.

Shehnaaz said she believes relationships need balanced energy, effort, emotional reciprocity, and financial equality. According to her, one sided giving is a waste of time.

She said, “I have, in love — not otherwise. I only did it because the vibe was not right. When you expect something from someone and they do not meet those expectations… I have those expectations, and I cannot just keep giving endlessly. I believe in give and take. Investing in someone who is not reciprocating is just a waste of time.”

What Shehnaaz wants in a partner

The Sajna Ve Sajna actor added that a woman deserves return love when she gives love — and a partner must be emotionally aware, independent, open minded, respectful, and not controlling.

She emphasised that appreciation, real communication without constant phone dependency, shared experiences, travel, and mutual admiration matter more than performative gestures.

Financial equality matters

On money and relationships, Shehnaaz said she believes in sharing expenses — including while travelling. She said some men get uncomfortable when a woman contributes financially, and she sees that as insecurity.

She also revealed that although she believes in future planning and financial security — she is personally not yet certain about marriage.
