EDMONTON: Edmonton police have arrested a youth in connection with the death of 16-year-old Jazmin (Jasmine) Dhesi, who was fatally injured in a reported shooting early Sunday morning.

According to information released by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 139 Avenue and 32 Street during the early hours of Sunday. Jazmin was found suffering from injuries and later died.

Her family said she had gone to visit a friend. Other reports have indicated that she may have been staying overnight at a friend’s home before the incident.
