Twisha Sharma Death Case: Family Allegations and In-Laws’ Claims Deepen Investigation

The investigation into the death of actor and former Miss Pune Twisha Sharma has intensified as conflicting statements from her family and in-laws continue to emerge.

Twisha Sharma, 33, was found dead at her marital residence in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12, only months after marrying lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025. Since the incident, the case has attracted widespread public attention and remains under active police investigation.

Mother-in-Law Makes Fresh Claims

During a recent press conference, Twisha’s mother-in-law, retired judge Giribala Singh, rejected allegations of dowry harassment and presented a different account of the circumstances surrounding the case.

She claimed that Twisha had been receiving psychiatric counselling and taking prescribed medication related to mental health treatment. She also alleged that Twisha had experienced emotional and behavioral difficulties in recent months.

Additionally, Singh alleged that Twisha had previously admitted to substance use during pregnancy. These claims were also reportedly referenced in legal filings connected to the ongoing bail proceedings.

The family further stated that they attempted to save Twisha after discovering her and performed CPR before emergency services arrived.

Twisha Sharma’s Family Seeks Further Investigation

Twisha Sharma’s family has strongly disputed the claims made by her in-laws and continues to allege mental harassment and dowry-related abuse.

Family members have refused to accept the post-mortem findings so far and are demanding a second post-mortem examination, preferably at AIIMS Delhi. According to her father, the family believes the available evidence and medical findings do not fully align.

Relatives also stated that Twisha had expressed a desire to return to Noida shortly before her death and had remained in contact with family members on the night of the incident.

Police Investigation and SIT Probe

Bhopal Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine all aspects of the case. Authorities confirmed that multiple police teams have been deployed to locate Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, who remains untraceable.

Police officials also stated that a reward has been announced for information leading to his arrest and that steps have been taken to prevent him from leaving the country.

According to investigators, the preliminary post-mortem report indicated death by hanging. Officials added that allegations related to substance use have not been confirmed through post-mortem findings at this stage.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that conclusions will be based on evidence collected during the probe.
