Parenting Influencer Sara Gilson Killed in Suspected Murder-Suicide in Oklahoma, Police Investigating

According to police, emergency dispatchers received a 911 call at approximately 11:15 p.m. during which they reportedly heard a woman screaming, followed by what sounded like a gunshot.

Officials said attempts to reconnect with the caller were unsuccessful. Shortly afterward, authorities received another emergency call from the couple’s son, who reported that his stepfather had shot his mother.

Police responded to the residence and later confirmed the deaths.

Social Media Post Drew Attention

The incident occurred less than two weeks after Gilson shared a short TikTok video referencing allegations against her estranged husband.

The video followed a popular social media trend in which users mimic the style of a future documentary interview. In the post, Gilson referred to allegations involving her husband.

The post gained renewed attention after news of her death emerged.

Protective Orders and Ongoing Legal Matters

Public records indicate that Gilson and Duffey had been separated since 2021, when she filed for protective orders.

According to multiple reports, Gilson obtained an emergency protective order earlier this year after allegations involving Duffey surfaced. Court records reportedly required him to remain a specified distance away from her.

Separately, Duffey had been the subject of allegations involving inappropriate conduct with a teenage girl connected to a youth basketball program where he had served as a coach. Those allegations had not been adjudicated in court at the time of his death, and no criminal conviction had been reported.
