Princess Rajwa of Jordan has once again demonstrated her ability to balance polished royal style with relaxed everyday dressing.
The Princess was recently pictured alongside her husband, Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan, during a reunion with Prince Abdul Mateen and Princess Anisha of Brunei and their daughter, Zahra. The photographs were shared on Instagram by Crown Prince Hussein, who described the Brunei royals as “our dear friends.”
For the occasion, Rajwa opted for an understated outfit that put the focus on a pair of dark flared jeans, giving her casual look a distinctly early-2000s influence.
Princess Rajwa Keeps Her Royal Reunion Look Relaxed
Rajwa paired her dark denim with a knitted khaki-green top and kept her beauty look understated with minimal makeup.
The standout element was the flared silhouette of her jeans. The shape is strongly associated with Y2K fashion, while also drawing on the bell-bottom styles that became popular decades earlier.
The fitted-through-the-thigh silhouette before widening below the knee creates an elongated appearance, particularly when paired with heels.
Rather than opting for an elaborate royal wardrobe, Rajwa’s combination of simple knitwear and statement denim offered a more casual interpretation of her usual polished style.
Why Flared Jeans Remain a Y2K Fashion Favourite
Flared jeans became a defining part of early-2000s fashion, although their origins can be traced much further back to the 1960s and 1970s.
The silhouette has repeatedly returned to fashion, with contemporary versions ranging from subtle flares to dramatic bell-bottom shapes.
The style has also remained popular among members of the British royal family. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has worn flared trousers and jeans on numerous occasions, pairing them with both casual footwear and heels.
Rajwa’s latest appearance offers another example of how the retro silhouette can be incorporated into a contemporary wardrobe.
Princess Rajwa and Princess Kate Share a Similar Style Sensibility
Royal fashion watchers have occasionally drawn comparisons between Princess Rajwa and Catherine, Princess of Wales, particularly because of their preference for classic silhouettes and polished styling.
Both have worn designs from Alexander McQueen, one of the fashion houses frequently associated with Princess Kate’s wardrobe. Rajwa has also been seen wearing Gianvito Rossi stilettos, a footwear label favoured by Catherine.
While their individual wardrobes remain distinct, both royals frequently combine traditional tailoring and timeless pieces with contemporary details.

Rajwa’s Birthday Look Featured Modern Tailoring
Rajwa’s fashion choices extend beyond casual denim.
For her 32nd birthday in August, the Royal Hashemite Court released a portrait of the Princess wearing an all-black outfit accented by a brown belt.
The tailored look was praised by luxury stylist Oriona Robb, who highlighted the effect of the double-belt detail.
“The all-black tailoring is clean and incredibly refined, but it’s the double belt detail that quietly transforms the look,” Robb said.
She explained that the belts helped define the waist and introduce a modern element without taking away from the simplicity of the outfit.
A More Relaxed Side of Princess Rajwa’s Style
From structured tailoring to flared denim, Princess Rajwa’s recent looks demonstrate the range within her wardrobe.
Her latest appearance shows that royal fashion does not always require formal gowns or elaborate occasion wear. A simple knitted top and dark denim can create an equally polished appearance when the proportions and styling are carefully considered.
The Y2K-inspired jeans also demonstrate the continuing return of early-2000s fashion, with the retro silhouette finding a place in contemporary wardrobes once again.
