Actor Mrunal Thakur has opened up about the persistence behind her journey in films, revealing that she actively approached filmmakers for opportunities rather than waiting for roles to come her way.
Mrunal, who began her film career with the Marathi project Hello Nandan and entered Bollywood with Super 30, said the early phase of her career required determination and courage.
‘I Had to Create My Own Opportunities’
In a recent interview, the actor shared that she did not receive easy access to roles and had to make her presence known to directors.
According to Mrunal, she would confidently introduce herself to filmmakers and express her willingness to work. She emphasised that she never hesitated to seek opportunities directly, believing that consistent effort eventually pays off.

Reflecting on her early struggles, Mrunal revealed that filmmaker Aditya Dhar, known for directing Dhurandhar, was the first director she gathered the courage to approach for work.
She admitted that at the time, she was unsure about how to ask for roles or communicate her ambitions clearly. However, she recently reminded Dhar about that early interaction, saying it remains a memorable moment in her journey.
Inspired by Sridevi’s ‘Mom’
Mrunal also spoke about being deeply influenced by Mom, starring Sridevi. The film left such an impression on her that she personally conveyed her desire to collaborate with its director, Ravi Udyawar, someday.
That aspiration has now materialised, as Udyawar is directing her upcoming Hindi film.
Next Up: ‘Do Deewane Seher Mein’
Mrunal will next be seen in Do Deewane Seher Mein, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi. The romantic drama is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is slated for a theatrical release on February 20, 2026.
