Katrina Kaif has opened up about the physical changes she experienced during and after pregnancy, including how motherhood affected her skin and changed the way she approaches beauty and skincare. Her comments come at a time when the actor’s appearance has been the subject of online discussion following the birth of her son Vihaan with husband Vicky Kaushal.
While Katrina has not publicly responded to individual instances of trolling or body-shaming, she has spoken candidly about how her own relationship with her appearance has evolved. In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor explained that pregnancy left her skin more sensitive and forced her to become more attentive to its changing needs.
Katrina Kaif Says Pregnancy Made Her Skin More Sensitive
Speaking about her experience after childbirth, Katrina said her skin became noticeably more sensitive.

Rather than following a fixed routine regardless of circumstances, Katrina said she has learned to adjust her skincare according to what her skin requires at different stages.
“I’ve learnt to be adaptable and responsive to what my skin needs at a particular phase or time,” she explained.
According to the actor, factors such as stress, inflammation and environmental exposure can also influence how her skin reacts.

Instead of addressing particular trolls, Katrina has used her recent discussion about beauty to explain how her own definition of looking good has changed over time.
‘Looking My Best Is Really About Feeling My Best’
Looking back at the beginning of her career, Katrina acknowledged that modelling and acting exposed her to established ideas about appearance and beauty.

Her priorities have changed since then. For Katrina, looking good is now closely connected to overall wellbeing rather than simply meeting external expectations.
“Now for me, looking my best is really about feeling my best, and that comes from taking care of myself as a whole,” she said.
She said this broader approach includes eating well, staying physically active, meditating, getting natural light in the morning and creating time away from her phone.
Katrina Says Her Skincare Routine Has Become More Personalised
The actor also described her current skincare routine as more thoughtful than it was earlier in her career.
“I think my routine has actually become more considered over the years,” Katrina said.
Instead of using exactly the same products every day, she now adjusts her routine based on how her skin is responding. Travel, stress, demanding shooting schedules and exposure to strong lights are among the factors she identified as potentially affecting her skin.
One habit that has become particularly important to her is sunscreen. Katrina said it is now a non-negotiable part of her routine, although she admitted that she was less consistent about using it when she was younger.
Katrina Kaif on Avoiding ‘Overnight’ Skincare Results
Katrina also questioned the growing expectation that skincare should produce an immediate and dramatic transformation.
Although she enjoys products such as sheet masks and lightweight, essence-like serums, the actor said she prefers a gentler and more consistent approach to skincare.
“If there’s one thing I’d like to see less of, it’s the idea that skincare needs to deliver an overnight dramatic transformation,” she said. “I think gentle formulas and consistency are far more beneficial in the long term.”
