A couple who left well-paying technology jobs to pursue content creation full-time says the move transformed both their careers and their earning potential.
Muskaan Mittal and Aashish Gupta recently shared a detailed breakdown of their income journey on Instagram, explaining how they went from earning a combined annual salary of ₹35 lakh in the technology sector to generating more than ₹1 crore in a single year through content creation and multiple digital income streams.
Their story has drawn attention as India’s creator economy continues to expand, with more professionals exploring opportunities beyond traditional corporate careers.

Their combined income provided financial stability, but they began experimenting with content creation alongside their full-time jobs.
The turning point came after documenting a trip to Vietnam. One of their travel videos attracted more than 20,000 views, encouraging them to continue creating content.
Today, their social media channels feature travel experiences, lifestyle content, relationships, health, and practical creator insights.

In 2024, Muskaan and Aashish decided to leave their corporate jobs and focus entirely on growing their digital platforms.
They also diversified their business beyond sponsored content by launching group travel experiences and expanding into affiliate marketing.
According to the figures they shared, their total earnings for 2024 reached approximately ₹45.3 lakh, exceeding what they had previously earned together as salaried professionals.
They also partnered with a talent management agency during that phase to secure additional brand opportunities.
Crossing the ₹1 Crore Mark
The couple says 2025 became their biggest year yet.
After leaving their agency, they chose to manage more of their business independently while exploring additional revenue streams.
Their reported income sources included:
- Brand partnerships
- Affiliate marketing
- Platform monetization through YouTube and Facebook
- Sales of digital products
- Group travel experiences
Combined, they say these activities generated ₹1.09 crore during the year.
According to Aashish, speaking with experienced creators and building multiple income channels helped strengthen their business beyond traditional sponsorships.
Income in 2026 So Far
The creators also shared their earnings for the first four months of the current year.
According to their Instagram video, they generated approximately ₹21.6 lakh during that period.
However, they emphasized that creator income can fluctuate throughout the year because advertising budgets, travel campaigns, and brand partnerships are often seasonal.
They also clarified that the income figures discussed represent gross earnings and do not include business expenses, taxes, production costs, or operational investments.
Why Multiple Revenue Streams Matter
Industry experts often note that successful digital creators rarely depend on a single source of income.
Instead, many combine several revenue channels, including:
- Sponsored brand campaigns
- Affiliate commissions
- Advertising revenue from video platforms
- Paid communities or memberships
- Digital products and online courses
- Events and travel experiences
- Merchandise sales
Diversifying income can help reduce dependence on brand collaborations alone and create greater financial stability over time.
The Growing Creator Economy
India’s creator economy has expanded significantly in recent years, with professionals from engineering, finance, healthcare, education, and technology increasingly exploring content creation as either a side business or full-time career.
While success stories often attract attention, industry observers also point out that building a sustainable creator business typically requires consistent publishing, audience trust, business planning, platform diversification, and the ability to adapt to changing algorithms.
As a result, income can vary considerably between creators, and long-term success is rarely guaranteed.
