Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni says grooming is part of an actor’s profession, but she does not believe in letting beauty expectations dictate how she lives or presents herself.
For actors, appearances are often considered part of the job. From red-carpet events and interviews to promotional campaigns and photoshoots, celebrities are regularly expected to look their best. Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni, however, believes there should still be room for authenticity and comfort.
The actress says she does not constantly worry about how others perceive her appearance. While she understands that grooming matters professionally, she prefers feeling comfortable and confident over trying to maintain a flawless image at all times.
Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni Says She Does Not Feel Constant Beauty Pressure
Speaking about expectations surrounding appearance, Aishwarya says she has never felt the need to be perfectly groomed every time she steps outside.
“I’ve never really felt that pressure. I sometimes show up without makeup. I wear what I feel comfortable in and don’t constantly worry about what people are going to say. Sometimes I need to take some time off from all of that and simply look and feel like myself,” she says.
Her approach reflects a broader belief that appearance should not become a source of constant anxiety. For Aishwarya, looking presentable when the situation requires it is different from feeling obligated to look perfect all the time.
‘Being Comfortable in My Own Skin Is More Important’
The actress acknowledges that dressing appropriately and looking good can be important for professional occasions. At the same time, she does not want those expectations to come at the expense of her comfort.
“I’m quite candid that way. If I wanted to, I could probably walk into an interview or even an award function in track pants or shorts! Looking good is important when the occasion demands it, but being comfortable in my own skin is more important,” she says.
Her comments highlight the distinction she makes between professional grooming and personal identity. Rather than rejecting fashion or presentation altogether, Aishwarya appears to prefer approaching them on her own terms.
A Personal Style That Has Become More Authentic
Aishwarya also says her fashion choices have changed as she has gained more experience. Instead of simply following whatever is trending, she now focuses on whether an outfit feels natural to her personality.
“My style has become less about following trends and more about knowing myself. I’ve realised that when you are comfortable, it automatically reflects in the way you carry yourself. So today, I choose things that feel like me rather than simply choosing something because it is fashionable,” she says.
For the actress, confidence is therefore not necessarily about wearing the latest trend. It is about being able to carry a look comfortably and authentically.
Aishwarya Wants Space to Be Herself Away From the Spotlight
Beyond fashion and beauty, Aishwarya says she is conscious of maintaining a distinction between her public image and her personal identity.
“I don’t want my personal identity to become another performance. There should be a space where I can just be Aishwarya,” she shares.
The statement underlines her desire to preserve a private sense of self despite the visibility that comes with being an actor. For Aishwarya, authenticity means having moments where appearance, trends and public expectations take a back seat.
Ultimately, her perspective is less about rejecting glamour and more about keeping it in perspective. Grooming may be part of an actor’s professional life, but Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni believes confidence comes from being comfortable with who you are rather than constantly trying to meet an ideal of perfection.
