Gauahar Khan has criticised Panchayat actor Aasif Khan over his recent remarks about moustaches and masculinity on Bigg Boss 20. The actor and former Bigg Boss winner questioned why Aasif chose to make what she described as a narrow-minded comment while participating in the reality show.

What Did Aasif Khan Say About Moustaches?
During a task on Bigg Boss 20, Aasif spoke about the cultural significance of moustaches and linked them to his understanding of masculinity.
“Hum naa Rajasthan se aate hain, yeh mooch humari pehchaan hai, aur muchmundo ko mardon mein consider nahi karte hum,” he said, explaining that he comes from Rajasthan and that moustaches are part of his identity and cultural outlook.

Gauahar Khan subsequently shared her reaction on Instagram Stories.
The Bigg Boss 7 winner questioned why Aasif, whom she acknowledged as a successful actor, would use the reality show to express what she considered outdated or narrow thinking.
She also referred to an earlier moment involving another contestant and said she was disappointed that Aasif appeared to enjoy the exchange.
“Such a good actor, par har cheez mein aisi soch choti lagti hai,” Gauahar wrote, expressing disappointment with what she saw as his attitude.
Gauahar Brings Up Islam in Her Response
Gauahar also directly addressed Aasif’s reference to moustaches as a marker of manhood.
She wrote that if a moustache is being described as a sign of masculinity, there is also a religious dimension that should be considered. Referring to Islamic practice, she questioned Aasif’s understanding of the issue and wrote, “Islam mein toh Musalman mard ke liye sunnah is no moonch, has he forgotten that?”
Gauahar then shifted the focus from appearance to conduct, arguing that masculinity should be reflected through a person’s character and behaviour.
“Mard ki nishaani uski unchi soch aur behaviour hoti hai!” she wrote.
Her comments were clearly presented as her personal response to Aasif’s statement.
