Actor Samridhii Shukla, currently seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, believes that while Valentine’s Day is a sweet occasion, love itself cannot be confined to a single day on the calendar.
“I believe in love more than I believe in Valentine’s Day,” she shares. “Love is something that should be felt every day, not just on one particular date. Valentine’s Day is sweet and fun, but for me, it’s simply a reminder to express what you already feel.”
Love Beyond Grand Gestures
For Samridhii, love is less about elaborate surprises and more about consistency.
“If you truly care for someone, you don’t need a special day to show it,” she says. In her view, authentic relationships are built on daily effort, small acts of kindness, and honest emotions rather than dramatic displays.
She emphasises that it’s the everyday warmth — checking in, listening, being present — that sustains a bond over time.
A Simple Yet Meaningful Valentine’s Memory
When asked about her favourite Valentine’s memory, Samridhii recalls a day that had nothing to do with roses or expensive gifts.
“I once spent the day with close friends — eating good food, laughing, and simply enjoying each other’s company,” she says. “It was simple, but it felt warm and real.”
According to her, such uncomplicated moments often leave a deeper impression than grand celebrations.
On The Commercialisation Of Valentine’s Day
Addressing whether Valentine’s Day has become overly commercial, the actor offers a balanced perspective.
“Yes, to some extent, it has become commercial. You see gifts, offers and expectations everywhere. But it depends on how you choose to celebrate it,” she explains.
She believes the pressure to perform or spend can be avoided by keeping the focus on genuine connection rather than material expectations.
Her Idea Of An Ideal Date
When it comes to her ideal Valentine’s plan, Samridhii prefers calm over glamour.
“Maybe a long drive, good music and meaningful conversations. I’d choose a quiet place over a crowded, fancy restaurant,” she says. “The best date is where you can be yourself and enjoy each other’s presence without pressure.”
For Samridhii Shukla, love isn’t about a grand occasion — it’s about consistency, comfort and being emotionally present, every single day.
