Radhika Apte Recalls Emotional Toll of Leaked Intimate Clip: ‘I Couldn’t Step Out of the House for Four Days’

Radhika Apte has recalled the distress and fear she experienced after an intimate clip from one of her films was leaked, saying the incident affected not only her professionally but also her sense of safety at home.

Radhika Apte has spoken about the difficult reality of filming intimate scenes and the consequences that can follow when private or sensitive footage becomes widely circulated.

In an interview with India Today, the actor recalled an incident in which an intimate clip featuring her was leaked. She said the experience became so overwhelming that she was unable to leave her home for four days.

According to Radhika, the problem went beyond public scrutiny. The leaked material began affecting people in her immediate surroundings, making the situation feel increasingly personal.

“We were talking about being able to do intimate scenes, but once something I had done was leaked, I literally couldn’t step out of the house for four days,” she said.

Radhika explained that the situation made her realise how quickly an incident involving an actor’s work can enter their private life.

“The problem is that it can come home very quickly. Your doorbell can ring, and somebody can be outside your house because they felt offended. So, it’s not that easy. It’s much more complicated,” she added.

Leaked Clip Affected People Around Her

Radhika recalled several uncomfortable moments that followed the leak.

She said her stylist told her that the stylist’s driver had repeatedly watched the clip and questioned why she was going to Radhika’s home. The actor also said that her building’s watchman had seen the footage.

“Things like that started happening, and it became very difficult to deal with,” Radhika said.

Her account highlights the difference between consenting to an intimate scene as part of a film production and having footage from that work circulate outside its intended context.

Radhika Apte Was Concerned About Her Safety

The actor said the experience was particularly frightening because she was living alone in an apartment at the time.

Radhika recalled contacting her driver and her spot dada after learning that the clip had been leaked. She said she asked them whether they had seen it and told them that she needed to know whether they were comfortable continuing to work with her.

She also made it clear that she needed people around her whom she could trust for protection and support.

According to Radhika, both men reassured her that they would look after her.

“I was really scared because I was living alone in an apartment at the time. So yes, it can get quite tricky,” she said.

Radhika Says Fear Once Influenced Another Career Decision

During the same conversation, Radhika revealed that there had been another occasion when fear influenced a professional decision.

She said she had once been offered a project she “really, really wanted to do” but ultimately decided against accepting it because she became concerned about the possible consequences for her family.

The actor did not identify the project.

Radhika explained that the decision was connected to what she described as the political environment at the time, while clarifying that she was using the term “political” in a broader sense.

She said the decision was especially difficult because she had never previously wanted fear to determine her professional choices.

“I was very ashamed because I had never, ever taken a decision based on fear,” she recalled.

Radhika said she ultimately chose not to participate because she believed it could potentially jeopardise her family. She also said she had heard about certain incidents and that filmmaker Anurag had advised her against taking part.

She did not identify the specific project, incidents or circumstances involved, so the details of that episode remain her personal account rather than a publicly established explanation.
