Jhansi Woman Found Dead At Rented Home; Husband Named In FIR As Police Probe Suspected Strangulation

A 27-year-old woman was found dead inside a rented house in Jhansi’s Sipri Bazar area. Police have registered an FIR following a complaint from her family and are searching for her husband, who is suspected of involvement in the case. Investigators are examining call records and other evidence to reconstruct what happened.

A 27-year-old woman was found dead at a rented residence in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, prompting a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The woman, identified as Shivani, also known as Sudha, was found unconscious beneath a bed at a house in Awas Vikas Colony near Fauji Tiraha on Monday morning.

She was taken to Jhansi Medical College, where doctors declared her dead.

According to the information released in connection with the investigation, doctors reported signs consistent with strangulation and noted injuries on several areas of her face.

Police have registered a case following a complaint from Shivani’s family and are attempting to trace her husband, Yash Thakur, who has been named in the investigation.

What Police Suspect Happened

According to investigators, police had received information about a dispute between Shivani and Yash on August 31.

Investigators suspect that a confrontation subsequently took place inside the rented accommodation. Police believe Yash may have assaulted Shivani before leaving the premises and allegedly locking the room from outside.

The circumstances remain under investigation, and the police theory has not yet been established in court.

When Shivani was found the following morning, she was unconscious. She was taken to hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police subsequently began searching for Yash.

SP City Preeti Singh said that Yash was wanted in connection with the case and that efforts were underway to arrest him.

A police team reportedly travelled to Gwalior, where Yash is from, but did not locate him. His family members were also reportedly unavailable when police reached their residence.

Family Alleges History Of Domestic Violence

Shivani’s family has alleged that Yash had assaulted her on several occasions following their marriage, reportedly over minor disagreements.

These allegations form part of the complaint and investigation and have not been independently established in court.

Shivani had originally lived in Indergarh in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh. She had been staying in Jhansi with her sister Muskan and brother Aniket for approximately three months before her death.

The family’s account is now being examined alongside physical and digital evidence collected by investigators.

Police Examine Call Records And Mobile Phones

Investigators are examining the call detail records of both Shivani and Yash as they attempt to establish a timeline of events.

According to police, Yash allegedly left with Shivani’s mobile phone after the incident. The phones of both Shivani and Yash have reportedly remained switched off.

Investigators are expected to examine available digital and telecommunications evidence to determine when the couple communicated, where they were located and what happened before Shivani was found.

Police are also looking into the circumstances inside the house.

One question being examined is how Shivani’s sister, who was reportedly sleeping in another room, did not hear a disturbance if a struggle took place.

That aspect will need to be established through the investigation rather than assumptions.

Shivani And Yash Met On Social Media

According to Shivani’s sister Muskan, the couple first became acquainted through social media around two years ago.

Their relationship reportedly developed into a romantic one, after which they informed their families and married approximately 18 months ago.

The marriage and the couple’s subsequent relationship are now part of the wider investigation into Shivani’s death.

Police have also said that Yash worked as a salesman at a garments shop and that he has a previous criminal record, with several cases reportedly pending against him.

The nature and status of those cases should be established from official police or court records before being treated as confirmed criminal conduct.

Investigation Underway

Multiple police teams have reportedly been formed to locate Yash and establish the sequence of events leading to Shivani’s death.

Investigators are expected to consider the medical findings, injuries reported on the body, call records, mobile-phone data, statements from relatives and other available evidence.

The FIR and police investigation will determine what charges are ultimately supported by the evidence.

At present, Yash is an accused/suspect in the case, not a person convicted of the crime. His alleged involvement will have to be established through the investigation and, if charges are filed, subsequent judicial proceedings.

As police continue the search and evidence-gathering process, the central questions remain what happened inside the Jhansi residence, who was present at the relevant time and how Shivani sustained the injuries that led to her death.
